For November’s Art and Story: Challenge we are doing 30characters in 30days. I wanted to show off some of these from our first week.
I am hoping to get everyone who is participating on the 30challenge in 30days challenge will show some off on the Storriors blog.
UPDATE: Just wanted to show off three more, just as November is over.
More of my entries can be found at www.oxymoronpress.com
I know Chris Oatley is a friend of the art and story guys, so I wanted to plug his Artcasts and his portfolio. They have been really informative for my new webcomic because I am so bad with establishing backgrounds in my work. Chris and his associates at Disney have been so informative their last couple of casts. Thank you Chris for the artcasts and keep up the good work, and if you haven’t checked out his site… Do it now… http://chrisoatley.com
I really wanted to show Chris Oatley’s Skeletor, since I was the one who drew and posted the He-man. Chris blews my piece out of the water with this drawing.

P.S. I want to institute an “ARTIST CORNER” post… For artist you love to follow, Post one of their art pieces and why you follow them…
October’s Art and Story: Challenge subject was “Halloween Card”. Every year about this time of the year I draw a Halloween “card” to e-mail to all my friends and family…. It’s my version of the annual Christmas card. I also print out a coloring book version of the pictures for them to color and give them out to the kids during their trick or treating. I thought it would be cool to have a bunch of B+W pages from all over the world to give out this year?
That was the challenge and everyone brought their “A” games… Here is a preview of my card and coloring page.

P.S. Rob, Thank you, and everyone for participating in these challenges. Every month I look forward to creating the ideas, seeing where everyone takes the ideas and creating art for them myself. Again… Thank you, all.
The Storrior Forum is a good resource, especially in combination with the Art & Story Supreme podcasts and I’m glad I joined up. One of the fun aspects of being in a community that has many artists is to see and share art that relates to the ongoing conversation.
Here are the three pieces I made as part of the August, September, and October Storrior Forum Challenge:
- Fan art for Kevin Cross’s (of Laserbeamsgo.com) Monsters Are Go! comic that’s currently in development with some related art by Kevin in his portfolio site.
- Fan art of Robotech’s Ben Dixon for the “Your Favorite Saturday Morning Toon” theme - which truthfully Robotech wasn’t really a Saturday AM cartoon where I grew up but it certainly is near and dear to me.
- For October’s Halloween Challenge I made a single panel comic/card.
Thanks for getting these challenges going Bob! I look forward to it now every month!

This is my entry for the August Challenge “Monsters-are-Go” I crossed an alligator with a dinosaur and gave it some hair and a keyboard. It’s fun for come up with new designs for characters.
Yeah, Calmplex, Art and Story: Supreme Art Challenge for August was one of our most successful challenges ever.
August’s Challenge was inspired by Kevin Cross’s poignant story about his upcoming project “Monsters are go!” and the story about Kevin’s father. Also told here on his Monsters are go! page on his LazerBeams site… Kevin’s story inspired me to continue even harder on my artwork.

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by! :) Just wanted to share my submission for the August Supreme Storriers Art Challenge! This was the challenge where we were doing Kevin’s ‘Monster’s Are Go’ characters to encourage him to get his butt moving on this project lol… if you don’t allready know you can find more on Kevin’s projects at LaserBeamsGo.com
I also just wanted to say there’s a ton of great content over at Art and Story Supreme. I’ve gotten so much out of this! What i’m noticing is you get a much more concentrated version of Jerzy, Mark and Kevins thoughts on any particular matter in there individual mini cast’s and the Office Hours alone are worth way more than the monthly charge. If you can’t subscribe right now i would definately suggest going for the 15 day trial! IT ROCKS!!!!!
Anyways thanks again for checkin in guys!
